Q1: About the beeper
A1: The fan controller will beep about 5~6 times for system
initialization, it is normal.
The beeper might be caused by the temperature alarm or fan speed
alarm.
- the temperature detected may already exceed your alarm setting,
- the thermal sensor may be faulty,
- the fan speed is lower then your RPM setting,
- you may have a faulty fan.
In these cases, your LCD display will be flashing and turn red.
There
is no way to disable the buzzer, the only way is to remove
the buzzer physically which we do not recommend. Aerocool
will not be responsible for the damage caused by removing
the buzzer. |
Q2: Software not working
A2: Make sure you have downloaded the GateWatch software from
our website http://www.aerocool.com.tw/p-peripheral/coolwatch/coolwatch.htm
and have installed it properly into your system.
When
you run the GateWatch software for the first time or whenever
you change your connected fan, you should RESET the software
by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Left Mouse Click on the red dot of
the display.

Q3: "Runtime error 5" problem
A3: For "Runtime error 5" problem, it is most likely
that your USB hardware or software have problem. Please do the
followings:
First,
make sure USB cables are connected to motherboard properly.
There are two sets of USB cable, one for card reader and the
other for fan controller. Connect the VCC, D-, D+, GND cable
to correspond pins of USB port on your motherboard, please
be cautious, wrong connection will cause system not functioning
or damaged. (Please refer to the picture for USB connection)
Second,
check your system Device Manager to see if USB drivers are
installed and functioning properly (make sure there is no
"yellow flag" in all USB devices). Most of the time
the problem come from system's USB port (hardware) or USB
driver (software), in general, you don't need to install USB
driver as long as you are running WIN XP or above, however,
for some motherboards you may have to install USB driver which
came with your motherboard.
Third, when you run the GateWatch software for the first time,
please try to RESET the software by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Left
Mouse Click on the red dot of the display.

Q4: Thermal sensor
problem
A4: The thermal sensor is very fragile especially in the tip
of sensor. It can not be pressed or bent, it can only be taped
with thermal sticker to the surface where you want to measure
its temperature. If the sensor was damaged, it will cause alarm
to buzz and the display will start flashing.
The thermal sensor we used is NTC type of thermistor, the operating
temperature range is from -30C ~ 90C, rated zero-power resistance
is 10k ohm +/- 3% (at 25C). The thermal time constant is 5.0
sec (approx.) in air. This is a common type of sensor, you can
purchase at electronic shops or computer stores. If you do have
problem to get the thermal sensor in your area, please contact
us for assistance. |
Q5: Do I need Driver for card reader
A4: There is no need to install the driver for card reader as
long as you are running WIN XP or above. However, if you are
running Window 98/SE/2000 then you have to install the driver
for card reader. You can get the driver from the CD included
in the package or you can download it from our this page.
